Children’s classes start at 6.15pm – 7.00pm

It’s not just about fun!
Whilst all of our classes centre on the importance of having fun, it also provides significant benefits to any student who joins in.
  • Self Defence
Learning how to defend against bullies. Not just with force, but also with conflict resolution skills from body language and verbal skills to de-escalate a situation.
  • Confidence
All students, young and old gain confidence, but this is more obvious in children. With every achievement from being able to do a new ‘spinning kick’ technique, learning a new pattern to passing a grading and being promoted provides a constant process of achievement.
  • Fitness
Every lesson involves physical activity. You don’t need to be fit to start Martial Arts. With a structured progressive syllabus every student increases fitness and strength levels in a safe and fun environment.
  • Discipline
Any responsible martial arts school centres on the absolute focus of self-discipline. Not only  is it needed to be able to learn the techniques but is also needed to understand self-restraint.

Developing their ABC’s  . . . . . . . Attitude, Behaviour and Confidence
All lessons are taught with the emphasis on fun and positive encouragement. This helps to develop their self-esteem and build good character. All of our instructors are fully qualified with enhanced DRB checks (CRB) and hold current first aid certifications.

So what Does a typical lesson involve?

The photo's to the side were taken during one of our lessons!

Each lesson will start with a warm up, which varies every week. We use this time to help develop children’s fitness, strength and co-ordination skills. This will always be followed by a period of stretching. The stretching session will improve flexibility whilst promoting the importance of exercise and warm up. It is also during this time that students are asked questions in Korean to help them for their grading.

We may sometimes play a game, which is not only used to keep the body temperatures up, ready for the rest of the lesson, but also aids in balance skills, reaction skills and even learning to be part of a team!

The main instruction will again vary from week to week to ensure that all aspects of the syllabus are covered as well as their martial arts skills. This could involve learning new patterns, Line work and will always involve some form of pad work, where each student can develop their technical ability and power.
